I thought I'd post a few more of my favorites from the maternity session with April and Elijah. I've gotten behind on blogging due to editing, the holidays, and this creeping crud that keeps coming back (over and over and...). I think I'm on my 4th bout of the stuff and am ready for spring now.

{Elijah + April}
This handsome, down-to-earth couple is due with their first baby (a little souvenir from their service in Iraq!) on Christmas Day...and Elijah just so happens to hail from...OREGON! Yet again my world shrinks in a most awesome way. When Elijah put on his Oregon Ducks shirt I knew that a close friend of mine, a current UofO student and major Duck fan, would approve--she did, to say the least. April and Elijah were so easy to work with and I loved that she researched and sent me photographs she liked to give me an idea of what she was going for. Close by us during the entire shoot was Lucy, the too-cute-for-words puppy who I kept threatening to steal...she might have fit in my camera bag, yet I think Elijah and April would have noticed. What can I say, I'm a sucker for dogs! As I'm still heavily in editing mode--trying to catch up from losing days due to illness and Thanksgiving--I have a feeling I'll be adding more to this post, but in the meantime here are a few of my favorites from our session. April and Elijah, thanks so much for inviting me to document this wonderful moment in your lives! I can't wait to meet your little boy!!

{Simon}
I think I may have topped my record number of shots taken during a photoshoot with Simon, especially at the end when he crashed out on the couch in the most adorable way. He is full of spunk with great big blue eyes that peered at my inquisitively throughout the shoot. Simon probably thinks I, and his parents, are crazy with all we were doing to get smiles out of him...but he humored us and in the end we all agreed that being a super model is HARD! Simon, you are a sweetheart and Dave and Victoria, a session with you guys always leaves a big smile on my face at the end. Thanks so much for letting me capture little Simon!

{Brian + Rebecca}
I traveled up to Maine to photograph this adorable couple who are expecting their first baby. Rebecca has one of those smiles that can light up an entire room and their love for one another is so endearing. Some of my favorite images from the sitting came from me just letting them be themselves. They also have two of the sweetest little beagles I've ever met. As I'm still heavily in editing mode--and fighting the flu--I will be posting a couple more from this session (including the puppies) later. Thank you Brian and Rebecca for inviting me to capture this highly anticipated moment in your lives! I can't wait to meet your new little one!

{Cody + Family}
When I got an email from the lovely Jessica, I was reminded at how small the world really is. Turns out that Jessica attended a wedding I shot in Bend, OR about 6-7 years ago when we both lived out there. She eventually moved back home to New Hampshire, got married, and had a beautiful little boy named Cody. In her email she told me that she'd always loved my work, couldn't believe that I was now on the east coast, and could I come take photos of her family. I was both surprised and more than happy to oblige! At the shoot we talked about Oregon and reminisced about all of our favorite places in Bend. Her husband, Ron, cracked me up with his wonderful sense of humor--and Ron, I still love your "Good Will Hunting" accent. ;o) Cody was such a doll and adorably handsome to boot! I know I could have stayed there for hours taking pictures and chatting, but we've promised to get together again soon--and this time share a beer and maybe some football, too. Jessica, I'm so glad you "stalked my blog" all these years and truly loved capturing your family!

{The Pyatt's}
My daughter, Megan, is best friend's with a wonderful little girl named Savannah. Through her we've had the pleasure of meeting her equally wonderful family who just so happen to hail from the west coast as well. Last month we got together for a family shoot in the park next to the law school (or as Melanie puts it, "Rob's 'Home Away From Home'"). The weather was chilly, the sun was bright and high, but everyone put on their best smiles and I got some great shots. Thanks Pyatt family for being such troopers!
