Ink

I did it. Two weeks ago today I went to Oxygen Tattoo and got my custom piece for Toli done. April took pics of the entire process which you can see below. Honestly, it barely hurt. A couple of spots made me wince a little bit but nothing like what I had built up in my head. It went by so fast that I was very glad I had pictures to look back at. The healing process was probably the worst of it, but even that was way easier than I anticipated. I am already planning my next one and hope to have it done within the next week or two.

On to the pics...

Waiting in the chair

Being shaved

Stencil has been applied First line

Neil hard at work

Outline is done

Black shading is completed

First line of color going on--no, that's not blood, that's the ink

Checking out the finished ink

"I'm officially an inked woman!!" Here's a close-up of my tattoo. It was right after I removed the bandage and before I washed it, so it doesn't look it's best but you get the idea. Look close...the stone looks beveled--just like the jewel in Toli's dog tag.

I need to have another pic taken of it now that it's healed. The jewel looks even more realistic now. I couldn't be happier with it! Even my kids thought it was pretty.

I am not sure if I have anything I want on me that long :)

I saw a guy yesterday - tattoo all over his face. He is like 20. 10 years later I wonder how they will react to him when he is looking for jobs etc. (shouldn't be a factor, but i bet it will be).

oh well. at least yours look nice :) say hi to everyone including the doggies.

Yeah I made sure I could cover mine up if need be. Any others I get I will do the same.

For those that get them where they can easily be seen, my hats off to ya. ;o)
