{Around my house}

After reading some amazing photojournalists blogs, I got inspired to photograph things I found around my property. I broke out my 24-70mm Macro lens, looked up, looked down, looked sideways, and everywhere in between. Needless to say, I had a blast! I've decided to do this more often and feature them on here as sort of a "Shot of the Day" sort of thing. Sometimes I may only have one picture, other days I may add several. We'll see how it goes.

{Dave + Victoria + Baby-to-Be}

I may have gone a bit overboard {the shoot lasted over two hours!} with this maternity sitting, but I couldn't help it. Victoria and Dave were so relaxed in front of the camera that I barely had to pose them and just kept clicking the shutter, letting their love for one another come through naturally. Pregnant with their first baby, Victoria had that gorgeous Mommy-to-be glow about her that shone through in her beautiful smile. Thanks Victoria & Dave for allowing me capture this moment!

{Jeff + Chelsea}

I would be more than remiss if I didn't include the last wedding I did in Oregon...especially given who the bride is. I first met Chelsea when I photographed her younger sister's wedding and saw her again when I photographed her elder sister's wedding. So when the call came that it was Chelsea's turn, I was more than honored (and more than excited) that I had been chosen to capture their day. I've said it a million times but I love working with this family! Knowing that this was the last daughter to get married was a bit bittersweet, yet it was wonderful seeing everyone again.

Jeff and Chelsea chose to have their wedding in front of a {still somewhat} snow capped mountain in a beautiful field surrounded by towering pines and alight with sagebrush. Definitely the perfect place for two nature-loving people to share their vows. The reception was held under the big white tent at the Seventh Mountain Resort where family and friends danced, shared in a jaw-droppingly awesome cake by Mike's Amazing Cakes, and laughed the night away. Throughout the entire day and night, Chelsea looked radiant, and Jeff grinned ear to ear. A perfect day for a perfect couple! Jeff & Chelsea, thank you for letting me a part of your day!

This bracelet was worn by all three sisters in each of their weddings

{First Maternity session in NH}

I couldn't have asked for a better couple to share my first Maternity session in New Hampshire with! They were warm, friendly, and funny--plus, they have a great dog who supervised the shoot and even joined us for a few pics. It had been awhile since my last Maternity session and I had almost forgotten just how much fun they are. But with just one click of the shutter with a beautiful subject in front of me, I was quickly reminded. Sheri & Derek, thanks for letting me capture that amazing moment in your lives!

{I've moved...again}

It's been far, far, FAR too long since I updated my blog...and...we moved across the country over a year ago! I know, crazy right? That's what we thought too. But Ryan's job was tentative (at best) in Oregon so when he was offered a position (with the same company) in New Hampshire we decided to be pro-active and took it. To say leaving Oregon was hard would be a gross understatement. We truly loved living there, loved our friends, I was back in school and loving that, and we thought for sure that Portland would be our final stop on the moving train.

Wait.

Did I mention we had moved to Portland? I can't remember...but we did in 2007. While it was also tough leaving Bend, we really dug PDX. Portland is, and always will be, one of the coolest cities ever. My aunt (who lived in Portland w/her-now ex-husband, son, and daughter) said that Portland is one of those places that gets in your blood...in a good way...and stays there forever. She so wasn't kidding.

But now we're East Coasters and enjoying our life here. We bought a house with acreage--would have been nigh impossible to do in Oregon--and I even have chickens...and guineas...and ducks! Originally I wanted sheep but the land just isn't conducive for it as we are, quite literally, surrounded with forest. Still, it's kind of fun to play "farmer." Or would that be "poultry lady?" Either way, love it.

As for business I am still taking on clients and working with past ones. If you never got around to ordering an album or prints from me, fear not! I can still be reached at the same email address and am more than happy to get you whatever you need. So stay tuned for upcoming pics and a lot more blogging from the East Coast.
